Stompy McFire-Crotch (Final Name Pending) - Epic

Another day another Eldar titan...

Still not 100% convinced the colour scheme i went with was the best choice, but i'm OK with the end result, just think the blue is better.

Anyhoo, I'll fire up some photos below at the various stages.

Next up, Chaos infantry!

24 Hour Challenge - Epic

Well, i didn't mean to, but i guess i had missed the 'rush' of painting, and once i finished the first test Falcon, i didn't want to stop.

I'm sure i could have spent longer on these and add more details (Runes, gem stones etc)

As I've mentioned before, i work best when i'm inspired and see instant progress, so getting bogged down in the details often turns me off, which often leaves my minis in a permanent 'almost finished' state.

But i'm happy here. A small Eldar force completed in less than 24hrs. Adding in the pre-painted jetbikes, Vypers, Scouts and Striking Skoprions I've got a decent 2500 points in a jiffy!

I didn't have the balls to paint the Phantom titan that i posed up yesterday - i think i'll do him in a different scheme again - possibly some kind of dark red > yellow white/firey fade similar to the titan below's Heat Lance... But not sure!

A new Craftworld sighted - Epic

Having recently acquired more Epic minis than i'll ever likely paint/play with in a single life time i've decided to do the sensible thing and... Start duplicating my painted armies! :)

To a certain extent at least.

I'll be painting some new stuff (should finally be able to 'complete' my Ork force, as well as start some proper Chaos now that i have the infantry sprues.) However to rekindle my painting fires, and for an excuse to use the airbrush i'm going to start with a new Eldar force.

I'll use these to bolster my existing Biel-Tan dudes, or for use in smaller/allied games.

I've set aside;

A Company of Falcons
A Jetbike Company
2 Phantom Titans
2 Revenant Scout Titans
1 Avatar
And if i can be arsed, some other skimmers and some infantry.

Paint Scheme on the test Falcon below, i'm pretty happy with it, and it will blend nicely with some painted stuff i've picked up, as well as provide a nice contrast to the other armies in my collection.

Couldn't resist having one of the Phantoms doing a bit of posing.

Also on the cards - Paint up a couple more Traitor and Loyalist Warlord Titans in the schemes below to allow me to play some nice big titan games! (New Adeptus Titanicus next year hopefully!)

And in other news - finally got hold of Star Wars: Rebellion board game for a decent price. played it a few times now and its great. Blow those Wookies to hell!

Have a great Christmas, and a Happy New Year! (Resolution as always is going to be to paint more, and post more... We'll see.)

Back on Track - Epic

Pretty (self) limited hobby time of late, I was starting to feel the weight of all the unpainted minis piling up on me, so instead of cracking on with it, i just closed the doors to the man-cave!

I think i'm going to have to make a plan and tackle the projects that are nearly complete, before taking on anything new.

So as a result i don't have a huge amount to show.
Made some desert sand dune/hills and some palm groves that should serve all scales at some point.

Added a few units to the Iron Warriors/Chaos space marine army

Completed a couple of IG companies (Rogh Riders, and another Heavy Inf Company)

And finally did a little touch up work on an Eldar Warlock Titan that was bugging me. (still not 100% happy with it - started it before i was too down with washes/highlighting so its a bit stark for my liking)

I'm alive! - Eveything

I'm going to try and get back in the habit of regular postings, as i have been ramping up the painting progress lately, but i'm struggling to keep track of it all!

Most exciting news is that I've taken a dive into the world of airbrushing, grabbed a cheap package from Amazon and getting the hang of it now. Really handy for priming/base coating as the Scottish weather has been unpredictable to say the least. Can also see it being a great tool for getting tanks etc painted up.

Over the last few months I've been painting Star Wars Imperial Assault, Epic 40k, Flames of War and building some terrain, so just going to dump what photos i have below, and hopefully i'll be better at documenting stuff as it happens in the future!

Coming up;

I've ordered the Flames of War v4 Starter set as I've got a soft spot for World War 2 desert tank warfare.

5 models left to paint from the Imperial Assault - Return to Hoth expansion

Epic Ork slow grow army is coming along, a couple more clans and some vehicles and i can call it 'done'

Epic Imperial Guard, Space Marine and Chaos - finishing a few bits off and then i can eBay the excess as i don't think i'll ever realistically use it all.

Terrain - going to have a clear out so that i'm left with only what i need for a 6x4 Desert, Urban and Temperate, 6mm, 15mm and 28mm tables as it all takes up soooo much space!

Imperial Assault!

Shifting to a different Empire for a moment...

Spotted a partially painted boxed set of FFG's Imperial Assault game pop up on ebay for what i considered a decent price.

Snapped it up and now i have the task of completing this fella's work.

Looks like we both watch Sorasto's painting guides > https://www.youtube.com/user/Sorastro
So the task was a little less daunting (just had the pressure of keeping the high standard up!)

Can't say I've quite matched his cleanness, but if i can knock out 10 models in a day i'm happy!

My contribution so far (only 12 models and the AT-ST to go!);

Necromunda - Coming Soon!

Ok, looks like we are finally (nearly) ready to kick off a Necromunda campaign.

I picked up some bits on eBay, including a decent amount of Cawdor, Ratskin and Original Box stuff, for not much £, and to complement that, a nice 4x4 city themed gaming mat.

I have to say, Cawdor wouldn't have been my first choice, but the minis were effectively free, and they will mix well with my Chaos cultists if i need to expand the gang later. (still need to base them up properly, but here's a sneak peak)
