Merry Christmas! Last painting of the year and looking forward to 2022

Oh yes! my Blog! (August > December round up)
Long time no post!
I've not been entirely hobby idle, I've just not had a massive amount to show off (until now!)
The last few months I've been paring down my collection somewhat, getting rid of some unfinished projects and games systems I know that I'll never play enough to justify the shelf space.
I've been pretty focused on Bolt Action again recently, tying off a few loose ends by picking up a sprue of Brits to give me some regular HQ/Support guys, as well as painting up a German Goliath anti-tank team as a little palate cleanser.
I also finished off the last of my Ad-Mech models for Warhammer 40k (or in my case One Page Rules Grimdark Future).
The biggest project however has been building the sprue of Bolt Action USMC guys I picked up, into a fully fledged 1000pt+ force.
For this I got hold of the USMC Semper Fidelis starter box (for a nice price) and added on a couple of LVT amphibious transport/infantry support vehicles.
I picked away at them during October and November and then finally made a big push last night, by completing the 20+ guys I had sitting base coated, but washing, highlighting and basing all in one session.
And that was me, my pile of shame and hobby desk is relatively clear (for now) In the new year I'll be adding some armour and grenadiers to my late war Germans, as well as hopefully getting some more games in, pandemics permitting!

The rest of August I guess!

July/A bit of August Roundup
Very little progress hobby wise. The weather has been great so spent most if it outside and the times when the pang to hobby has hit, it's been too hot in my office.
I managed to get a wee terrain piece, a couple of Gargants, and some Chaos stuff for an upcoming battle painted, including some rather weird Slaanesh Knights that came out of necessity and what was to hand;
some 28mm Dark Eldar legs, heads and weapons, and for a couple of hours cutting, gluing and painting, they turned out just fine (i think!).
Other than that, I picked up some Rogue Trader IG stuff randomly, and have some actual games planned.
Next up - The ever looming Squats... Maybe this month will the time for them to be painted?

May/June Roundup
2 months without a post... The weather must be good!
I've actually done a fair bit in this period before just now hitting a wall with my squat force and packing my hobby space away until I'm feeling the urge again.
In the meantime we are cracking on with the Epic Army Lists for the podcast and this is giving me enough of a hobby hit for the moment.
So yeah, the last couple of months I started the Sqauts, and I've painted all of the vehicles I think I'll need for the moment, including quite a few conversions and scratch builds for a bit a variety and to avoid paying scalper prices on eBay!
I've based all the plastic I'll need, including 2 brotherhoods, 2 bike guilds, and a grand battery, but i need to find a bit of a spark to actually paint them now.
To keep myself interested I also did some odd jobs like a Commisar Yarrick for my IG and Fulgrim for my Slaanesh, as well as Chaos Marine company.

April roundup
Another month, another photo dump of progress...
Still not had any gaming, but that should hopefully change soon.
I've kept the pile of shame ticking over and finished off some odd hobby jobs - including more contributions to the Life Of Die podcast.
Next month will see my next 'new army' project for this year.... Epic Squats - I let go the small army i acquired a few years ago and used it to fund some fresh unpainted minis.
My vision for these guys will be some kind of Nordic/Pirate theme, black/grey/white/red using some Space Wolf decals where required.
I will have a boat load of plastic infantry and bikes, but not much of the heavier metal praetorians. As such my theming will be more of a mobile/raiding force rather than the traditional dug in/tick like dwarves of lore.
Anyhoo, here's the stuff, More Green Marines, based 40k guys, and some stuff from the Life of Die 'white dwarf' style photo shot for the latest video(s) on Epic list building.
